the city

It's loud and impersonal.  At times smelly.  The people are not rude, but they are definitely aloof. The sirens and honking horns at all hours are not a cliche' - it really happens all. night. long.  The food is fantastic but it is enjoyed in teeny spaces bumping elbows with strangers who pay you no mind. There is no discernable reason this girl who loves lakes and rivers and relationships and serenity should love New York City.  And yet I do.  I really do.  I can't wait to visit again.  I can't explain it.

Jonathan and I had an incredible week. Wouldn't want to experience my first visit to New York with anyone else. (And who else would tolerate my singing Broadway show tunes for months before and after our visit?)
