At each of those locations, Jonathan pretends like he's going to throw the boys in the water. Or the animal cages if we're at the zoo.
The boys barely flinch now, knowing the obligatory routine. (Although Ryan's not quite sure what Jonathan might really do, since he dunked the tip-top of his head at the playa lake at the park one day.)
Lauryn still squeals with half terror/half delight if Jonathan even so much as hints he might pick her up near any of the said locations. Notice her backing away in the above picture? Funny girl.
Holy cow! I cower in shear terror!
The man my Grandmother married decided to do the same to me over the balcony at my house and over the lion's cage at the zoo and I hated that man forever! ...To this day I am deathly afraid of falling from heights.
I will hold Lauryn's hand and we will go look at the monkeys. :)
Oh no Cheri! That's terrible! I can assure you Jonathan must be doing it in a different spirit....the boys are laughing and rolling their eyes. Far from terrified. (And he doesn't do it to Lauryn, precisely because she would be scared!) And he wouldn't hold them over a balcony or anywhere they could really be hurt. Pretty sure he wouldn't anyway. :-)
