Can we all make a vow we won't start wearing shoulder pads?

I received this promotional email from Kohl's:

Is it just me, or does that outfit scream return to the 1980's? The shimmery fabric. The pleating. The navy blue skirt with black tights. All she needs is a wee bit more AquaNet. Or Rave.



I make a vow to you my internet readers, that I will not embrace the shoulder pad, no matter what direction fashion may take. Although....the optical illusion they create would likely make my waist look smaller....

I can embrace just about any fashion decade except the 80s! I can't think of one item from this decade that I'd wear again. I will firmly remain "unfashionable" until this trend passes. Long live jeans, t-shirts and tennis shoes!
