I make these Sugared Pecans every year at Christmastime. They are made with cinnamon and allspice and make the house smell awesome.
The recipe was originally from my Grandma JoAnn. She passed away in December of 1998, the first year Jonathan and I were married. Making the pecans is always a nice time of reflection and remembering.
Those look sooooo good!!
YUM!!
mmmm...my thighs are getting bigger just looking at them! Hehe!
I'd love if you would post the recipe. Looks yummy!
Recipe:
Sugared Pecans
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp allspice
3 cups pecan halves
1 tsp vanilla
Combine sugar, water, cinnamon, and allspice in large pan. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until mixture begins to thicken (approx. 15-20 minutes). Add pecans and cook over medium heat stirring constantly, until pecans are well coated and mixture becomes difficult to stir(approx. 10-15 minutes). Remove from heat, add vanilla. Stir. Pour onto waxed paper, separate pecans before they cool and harden.
Recipe can be doubled.
Starr, you're right, these do sound a lot like the Sugar & Spice Nuts I posted about a few days ago. Thanks for leaving the link :) Now I'm going to poke around a bit.
