Celebrating the Season

Tonight we made some Carmel Apple Cider, a huge hit with the kids. Ryan said he liked it better than hot chocolate, which is a rave review indeed.
Trying to mimic the Starbucks version!
Experiencing the goodness that is whipped cream.
After we finished our cider, we made a Jesse Tree, a project suggested by the Advent Calendar we've been using.
"The Jesse Tree is named from Isaiah 11:1: "A shoot will spring forth from the stump of Jesse, and a branch out of his roots." It is a vehicle to tell the Story of God in the Old Testament, and to connect the Advent Season with the faithfulness of God across 4,000 years of history."
We included an Ark to represent Noah, a staff for Jesse, a crown for David, and a cross for Jesus. It was fun to let Ryan and Dylan guess what each symbol stood for.
Our tree is on the skinny side but it gets the job done!
