What is your "cleaning routine?"
I tend to stick with the basic products: Bleach, Comet, Formula 409, Pledge, and Windex. I might occasionally use Soft Scrub. Beyond that, the amount of products in the cleaning aisle at the store overwhelms and confuses me.
I've tried several different "specialized" cleaning products, but always return to the old faithful ones my mom and grandma used. (Oh, I do also buy Clorox Disinfectant Wipes. A must have bathroom product with two little boys!)
So any recommendations? Any miracle products out there I should be purchasing? Or do you use the same couple of products house-wide like I do? Share your secrets! (And I've seen some of your immaculate houses, so I expect a comment. You know who you are.)
Even though you have not seen my house, I can PROMISE you that it is not immaculate...ever, so I don't think my cleaning advice would help you in the least!!! :)
Although, I do stick to the basics! I love bleach...especially in the boys' bathroom!!!
The MAGIC ERASER is my best friend. LOVE IT.
I love the disinfectant wipes myself. I also think the swiffer wet jet is perfect for small, maintenance-type jobs.
Dollar Tree has the BEST orange cleaner, I believe it's called Orange Blast. I just spray it on grease or a nasty piece of goo that won't come off the floor with a regular mopping, let it sit for a few minutes and it comes right up! I must add, this stuff is WAY better than it's name brand counterpart, and the little bottle lasts a long time.
I'm not a cleaning product person. All those chemicals and poisons where the kids are going to play. And bleach? Ick! It also contributes to asthma. Plus, did you know that the germ killing power of chlorine bleach is made ineffective when it comes in contact with organic material (e.g. blood, pee, etc.). So, I figure why bother!
For all-purpose cleaner (countertops, door knobs and light switches, spills, tables, etc.) I make my own natural cleaner. I've been meaning to blog about it so look for it this week probably. It's also CHEAP!
Then I use Ajax/Dutch cleanser/Commet (whatever is cheapest). Glass and mirrors get regular old rubbing alcohol.
Borax for a deodorizer.
And as someone else said, I also like the Magic Eraser.
Seriously, that is IT! These things do the job without causing health problems or lightheadedness.
