Down for the Count

Yesterday about 2:00pm I was hit with a crazy nausea-inducing headache. I'm not prone to getting headaches, but this one was a whopper. All I could do was turn on cartoons for Dylan and Lauryn, and bury my head under my pillow in bed. The light rays that were seeping through my mini-blinds felt like knives plunging into my skull.

By 3:00pm my headache was all-consuming, and I was really feeling sick to my stomach; so I called Jonathan at work and asked him if he could please pick up Ryan from school and bring him home.

So....Jonathan, love of my life, picked up Ryan...came home and got the other two kids...and spent the entire evening going to two different parks, Wal-Mart, and McDonald's with the kids so that I could have four and a half hours of uninterrupted quiet. Then he came home and gave them baths and put them to bed. Is he incredibly awesome? Yes. A thousand times yes.

Also awesome is promethazine, the sleep-inducing nausea medicine I took that allowed me to sleep from 3:00pm yesterday afternoon until 7:30am this morning.

I feel much better today. A little tense perhaps from being in bed for 16 hours straight, but better.

Oh my gosh! I've never heard of such a thing!

Is this a bad time to tell you that I've always wondered what a headache feels like? Your vivid description there made me glad I've never had one...

Praise God for godly husbands! It sounds like you had a migraine. I have them. If you go to Wikipedia and search migraines it will give you a list of possible triggers. Even though the list is long it might give you some idea of what could have caused your headache. Some common triggers are msg, hormones, missing meals, and caffiene withdrawal. Good luck and I pray you NEVER have another one.
