Happy Second Birthday to Lauryn!

The birthday gift her Granny sent (the above accesories, with tiara and jewelry, and yes even a scepter) was a big hit!

I can't believe it's been two years ago that she made her grand entrance. Lauryn came home from the hospital a healthy little 7 lb 3 oz bundle of joy. A few days later, we were back at the doctor's office because she was struggling with an unexplained fever and difficulty breathing. We had a terrible moment when CPR became necessary, and she spent a night in the ICU. We never got a diagnoses, just a crazy amount of invasive and awful tests. We believe that God answered our prayers for healing and miraculously started working on our behalf; just as mysteriously as the symptoms had appeared, they disappeared. The doctor's sent us home saying that we needed to thank whoever was praying for our little girl.

Looking at her now, I'm so grateful how those terrible memories, of seeing her in the ICU with oxygen tubes and IV's invading her little body, have started to fade. She is such a happy, normally developing little girl! When she was in the hospital the doctor's performed ultrasounds, CT scans, and MRI's to determine if her little brain had suffered any damage from lack of oxygen. We prayed and believed that she would be completely whole and healthy (she was - everything was normal), and the Lord continues to answer that prayer.

She is a perfectly normal two year old, controlling her environment in all her two year old glory!

Her daddy has a great post about his little girl here.
