I tried this homemade exfoliant recipe today: For any males still reading, an exfoliant is not something you eat; do not consume.
1 part olive oil
1 part coarse sea salt
Before turning on shower, apply mixture to dry skin. Use on elbows, knees, legs, and feet. After scrubbing for approximately five minutes, wash off in shower with warm water and soap. Careful, bathtub surface will be slippery.
I used 1/4 cup olive oil and 1/4 cup of sea salt, and it was more than enough. I felt a little oily after showering, but by the time I had dried off and gotten dressed I just felt extra moisturized.
Anyone have other homemade beauty recipes to share?
For whiter teeth: Brush once a week with a paste made from baking soda and hydrogen peroxide. (don't swallow)
like every other male, I did not read what you said about not eating...so, I tried it...It's not bad with peanut butter and grape jelly...

Once in a while I give myself an exfoliating facial with oatmeal...put some oatmeal in warm water...it is soothing to the skin as well as exfoliating :-)

I have a weird one. When my lips are chapped or dry or flaky, I take my toothbrush and smear a bit of vaseline on it--then proceed to brush my lips. :-) I read it in a teeny-bopper magazine like 15 years ago (THAT made me feel old!!!) and I still do it. It works beautifully, but feels weird.
Brown sugar makes a good face and body scrub.
Adding baking soda to the bath water makes your skin feel refreshed and great.
Beat an egg and use it as a mask.
I love homemade beauty stuff!
I just remembered that e.l.f. gives tips. Their website is http://www.eyeslipsface.com and the tips are at http://www.eyeslipsface.com/tips.asp. They also sell their makeup for $.99/item and if you're on their mailing list they give out like 3 different coupons a month...at least!
