I guess it's all about being "manly"

I noticed a cut on Jonathan's hand. I asked:

"Babe, why didn't you put a band-aid on that?"

"I looked for one, but all I could find were Clifford [the big red dog] ones."

[teasingly] "We had Spiderman band-aids too."

[seriously] "I know, I looked for those but couldn't find them."

[puzzled] "So you would wear Spiderman, but not Clifford?"

"Yeah. [pause] Shut up."
